Michael Georgetti. Replay (rooms 1 & 2) 2009 Australia

Michael Georgetti

Using snooker cues, balloons, tennis balls, tumble dryers and water features, wax and remote-control cars, as well as painting and drawing, Michael Georgetti constructs objects and environments that seem to summon human qualities from the most unlikely materials. He writes “I use a combination of video, painting and installations to make slapstick depictions of the slippage between behaviour and technology: I explore ways that humor and romanticism can be employed to describe the way thoughts and feelings manifest within the mechanical and constructed environments we live in.”

Michael Georgetti has exhibited extensively in solo, group and collaborative exhibitions in Melbourne, including recent shows at Michael Koro Gallery, Bus Gallery, Kings Artist’s Run Initiative and Westpace.
