David Russ

David Russ was born in Brisbane, Australia in 1960. David is a graduate of the Queensland University of Technology, where he studied visual arts and education. He began his professional career working as a graphic artist in the advertising industry, before emerging as a fine artist in the 1980’s. David’s experience as a graphic artist continues to influence his individual approach to the mediums of painting, drawing, printmaking, and photography.

David’s art highlights the internal world of memory and emotion.
David explores the emotional experience of memory through the expressive transformation of printed matter and found photographic imagery. His working process combines digital and traditional mixed media with elements of intuition and chance.
