Janice Gobey

Gobey graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia obtaining first class honours. Her work deals with sexual politics – she is strongly influenced by her undergraduate studies in Psychology and Sociology.

Gobey has a fascination with drapery and the possibilities that this preents for exploring abstract concepts and translating them into a visual format. Most of her work features sensual depictions of fur, velvet and satin.
