Guildford Lane Gallery is proud to be apart of Midsumma 2009 ‘All grown up’. This year’s MIDSUMMA theme is “A Queer Coming of Age”, and marks the 21st birthday of the celebration of Queer Culture.

Opening on Australia day Guildford Lane will host a VISUAL ODYSSEY of multimedia, graphic design and installation.

She and he are the misfits, the dysfunctional couple lost in a world that can’t care for them. He is the painted doll, long legs, glamorous hair. She is the strong silent type, brooding and handsome. In the confines of their burnt-out little room, they drink and smoke. Enacting sex, desire, desperation, theirs is a perfect performance. They are Deco, they are lacquer scratched off to reveal decay.
