In Ulterior Premise of Bumesi, Dru Blumensheid creates an atmosphere made up of moments, where the colour creates imaginary paths between objects and photographs until it finally draws you in.
Ulterior Premise of Bumesi expresses concealed messages of personal interest in what Dru Blumensheid perceives through Australian culture and art.
“The images I take are my personal interpretation of the silent, hidden expressions that exist in between moments of time, my nostalgic and current perspectives of popular art and the politics of social confrontation. I think that the most important tool in photographic expression is the ability to silently speak the truth of the subject – which is often the dark reality of human nature – whether that truth is hidden in the light of the image or revealed in naked form.”
