OMFG!

OMFG ! is foremost an investigation into the subjective nature of offensiveness. Various incidences, meanings and forms are offensive to some, but not to others. Why, where and what is this grey area and how can we possibly hope to meet everyone’s needs? Sometimes, the nature of ‘offense’ is related to a ‘punk’ sense of having the perceived arrogance to simply take things on ourselves. In a world where cynically target-marketed culture costs trillions, the individual artist deciding she or he can brazenly contribute to culture on their own terms can be easily read as an offense to the system. Censorship has almost become a signpost for ‘interesting’, given most manifestations of culture are homogenized and predictable and apparently designed for the lowest common-denominator.
