SIDE-EFFECTED INDUSTRIES

EMIL TOONEN

Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP)

Friday 07 August 2009 to Sunday 27 September 2009
Opening Thursday 06 August 2009 6–8PM
The CCP Shop Space showcases Side-effected Industries, Emil Toonen's latest range of optical technologies—a series of deranged devices exploiting consumer electronics.

Alongside emergent cultures of hardware hacking, DIY and case modding, the works utilise mass-produced products beyond their intended purpose or marketing hype. Toonen’s optical alterations operate to reveal themselves and perform their various ‘functions’.
