Slight Inclusions comprises a collection of Kat Macleod's original drawings, and features pieces from commissions by publications such as Vogue Entertaining + Travel, The Cocktail and Real Simple Magazine. Macleod's works have been exhibited in their raw form, complete with unique imperfections that are typically cut for commercial purposes.
The artist views these flaws as ‘inclusions,’ much like those that occur in diamonds and give each one its special signature.
Slight Inclusions also presents four limited edition large scale silk-screen prints, hand-pulled by Macleod alongside Kate Banazi of the Jacky Winter Group. Featuring between two and four colours, the prints have been created with fluorescent and metallic solvent inks on Fabriano Rosapina 285gsm cream paper with deckle edges.
For the first time, Kat is making available for purchase an extensive collection of these highly-sought after works in their original untouched states, making this a rare opportunity for all fans and collectors of her work.
Melbourne based Kat Macleod finds fashion, textiles, new art supplies and old books inspiring. Her work has featured in Vogue Entertaining and Travel, Harper’s Bazaar, Madison and Frankie as well as for Collette Dinnigan and Clare Bowditch’s album cover. She has also illustrated three books, Bird, The Cocktail Book and Like I Give A Frock. She enjoys hot chips, talking on the phone and her cat.
