Josephine Do

Tuesday 11 May 2010 to Saturday 22 May 2010
Josephine Do’s large multi-media canvas and linen works often include appropriation of traditional Chinese paintings and sequences of satellite and propaganda figurative images, suggesting the changing views of the past and the future of China with a powerful post colonial edge.
Our views of the past have changed along with mental attitudes about the present and future, in ways that reflect attitudinal shifts in the cultural at large.
A key quality in Josephine’s new work is that she faces the future by looking to the past of China.
