Richard McLean: Back to Basics

Recent works

Kingston Arts Centre Gallery (KACG)

Thursday 20 January 2011 to Tuesday 08 February 2011
Opening Thursday 20 January 2011 6.00pm-8.00pm
After past forays into writing, illustrating for both 'The Herald Sun' and 'The Age', digital art, and public speaking, Richard McLean boldly returns back to basics; traditional drawing, all in black and white. These striking drawings represent his joy of image making, also the rhythmic dynamics of light and dark in both a metaphysical and visual sense.

This new body of work returns to the traditional sensibilities of form and space, using subjects reflecting on circumstance, metaphor, bayside location, and social realism; and making extraordinary art – out of the ordinary.

Limited edition prints, sculpture, catalogue, and past publications are also showcased alongside this generous amount of new creativity.
