Faced with the moral dilemmas that arise within their micro world, the intricately drawn watercolour figures in I’m Just Here for the Atmosphere explore an Orwellian notion of 'freedom of speech'.
The social behaviours of large groups of people are explored through characters the artist has developed on a more intimate level.
Rebecca Agnew playfully dramatises the boundaries of morality, demonstrating the consequences of action and the witness we play to media-generated images of violence and exploitation, celebration and community.
