Emerging contemporary artist, Trent Edward, celebrates his latest body of work , The Deep End. An impassioned surfer and contemporary artist he has held numerous solo & group shows since graduating from COFA in 2005. Edward merges his two passions, art & the surfing environment, to share his enthusiasm & underlying connection with the physical grandeur of Australia's coastline.
The use of acrylics & mixed media on plywood create textural compositions that capture the movement of water and sky; the power & grace that intertwine on distant horizons.
The visual result captures fleeting moments of ambient beauty, often bordering on the sublime. Having recently relocated to Byron Bay, a renewed sense of energy and passion is reflected in Edwards’ powerful & ocean-inspired body of work.
The Deep End opens Saturday April 9th at 775 Gallery, Shop 2A, 41 Cook Street, Flinders.
