Nina Siska balances the ephemera of the rainbow with the timelessness of the cinema in a wry yet heart-rending meditation on the importance of viewing positions and the role of contradiction and exchange.
A rainbow appears and everyone is talking about it; yet its appearance is unique to each precise point in time and space. Bogart and Bacall meet on the set of their first film together and fall in love. Their offscreen romance is the talk of Hollywood, yet their private moments remain as mysterious and mercurial as the refraction of sunlight through rain. The artist presents images we think we recognise that are also moments we’ll never truly know.
