JOAN STOKES IN THE HEAT - RECENT WORKS ON PAPER

Karen Brown Gallery

Wednesday 26 October 2011 to Saturday 26 November 2011
The outback life was a very memorable time. Where I grew up from childhood the heat, the drought, flood, cold Winter, bushfire were never anything new. I grew up in a very hard way. My parents worked hard, nothing stopped us.

The trees would wither, no leaves, no shade to cool off. But that did not stop us mustering, milking the cows, gardening, many other things. Life went on.

In the heat, we lived day to day.

Taking life in, day in day out.
