Wang Chien Yang

Playful and irreverent, innocent yet erotic, the work of Taiwanese artist Wang Chien Yang focuses on the twilight zone of the ‘house of the imagination.’ A graduate of the National Taiwan University of Arts, Wang’s bizarre and surreal photography explores privacy, fantasy and imagination. In House, his photographs feature Taiwanese models placed into surreal scenarios where the moment between innocence and eroticism – an awakening – is suggested amidst a toy-filled wonderland.

Combining the kitsch and the erotic, the playful and the sublime, Wang’s universe presents a vibrant vision of the inner vision of a new Asia.
