This thought-provoking exhibition calls into question the norms and values inherent in consumer behaviour. Eleven artists from New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria have been selected to create sculptures or installation pieces that provoke reflection upon consumer behaviour – the objects we covet and why. Salvaging post-consumer waste, the artists have used wit and subversion to create their works. Using reclaimed commodities they have explored the truths that may be revealed about the nature of consumerism and the social and environmental consequences of unfettered consumption and waste generation.
