Leah Heiss is a Melbourne artist and designer who plays with wearable
technologies ranging in scale from garments to jewellery.
In liminal at RMIT Gallery, she explores the aesthetic possibilities of medical devices in a wonderful collection of jewellery and vessels that can be used to
deliver insulin and purify water of arsenic. Heiss worked in collaboration with Nanotechnology Victoria as an artist in residence, to develop jewellery that contained their MicroArray patches, small 10X2mm circular discs, which have an array of micro needles on their surface.
