Views from a Speeding Train

Amanda van Gils at Jenny Port Gallery

Wednesday 03 December 2008 to Saturday 20 December 2008
Opening Wednesday 03 December 2008 6pm - 8pm Wednesday 3rd December Gallery hours: Wed-Sat 11-5pm, or by Appointment
'Views from a Speeding Train' features new paintings by Amanda van Gils. A sophisticated meditation on painting, photography and high-speed travel, these paintings resonate with the times we live in - a time in which none of us can be sure of where we are heading - metaphorically, spiritually, politically, economically. Such is the fast train we all find ourselves on in the early 21st Century.

‘Views from a Speeding Train’ includes new paintings recently selected for the Fluerieu Art Prize, The Tattersall’s Club Landscape Art Prize, The John Leslie Art Prize and The Mosman Art Prize.

This will be the first time the series ‘Views from a Speeding Train’ will be shown in it’s entirety.
