Galería Elvira Gonzalez opened its doors in September 1993. For more than thirty years, Elvira Gonzalez was he director, along with Fernando Mignoni, of Galeria Theo and it thus one of the most established gallery owners in Madrid. Currently, Elvira Gonzalez is the President of the Association ArteMadrid (art galleries of Madrid) and in 2002 was awarded the Medalla de Oro al Merito de las Bellas Artes (Gold Medal of Merit in Fine Arts).

The gallery has connections with the most important cultural institutions in the world.
