The Joseph Brown Collection at NGV Australia will forever tell the story of the immigrant who became an artist and soldier, a scholar and connoisseur, a successful businessman and an art dealer, a mentor to artists and an art patron; a man who made a huge and enduring difference to the culture of this country.

Draw the line will present the process of architectural design through the material of the Federation Square NGV archive together with LAB architecture studio’s subsequent project. This exhibition will explain how architects think about their designs and how concepts become realised as architecture. The exhibition will consist of conceptual material, working drawings and models.

The Cicely and Colin Rigg Contemporary Design Award is a generous legacy of the late Colin Rigg (1895–1982), a former Secretary of the Felton Bequests’ Committee. This ‘Award of Excellence’ focuses on contemporary design practice in the state of Victoria and is a reflection of the NGV ’s continuing support for and commitment to contemporary design.
