Rachel Uffner Gallery
Rachel Uffner Gallery opened its doors on September 20, 2008 with an exhibition of paintings by Roger White and a roster of six artists comprised of Josh Blackwell, Barb Choit, Sara Greenberger Rafferty, Hilary Harnischfeger, Pam Lins, and Roger White. In addition to presenting the work of gallery artists, we also regularly produce group and two-person shows comprised of diverse artists representing a broad range of work.
Rachel Uffner was director of D’Amelio Terras in Chelsea for five years, having built a strong reputation for organizing the first solo gallery exhibitions of artists such as Matt Keegan, Sara VanDerBeek, and Leslie Hewitt, as well as curating several well received group shows such as Bebe le Strange and Circumventing the City. Rachel Uffner has also worked in the Contemporary and Post-War Art Department at Christie’s Auction House and with private art dealers Giraud, Pissarro, Segalot.
The gallery has received extensive coverage in publications including The New York Times, New York Magazine, The New York Post, Time Out, Artforum, Frieze, and Art Review. We are pleased to be part of the emerging art gallery community of the Lower East Side and to be working with institutions, collectors, and consultants to promote interesting and exciting working artists.
