Galerie Waterton
After a long career with the World Bank, during which he spent the last ten years in East Asia, including four years in Indonesia where he built up a significant art collection, Mr. Francois Grossas decided to turn his long time passion for art into a business, with the creation of a contemporary art gallery in Singapore. Galerie Waterton opened its doors in early February 2009 in Tanjong Pagar Distripark, an increasingly attractive location for art galleries looking for spacious “lofts” with high ceilings and plenty of walls.
Galerie Waterton features paintings from South East Asian established and emerging artists, with a focus on Indonesia, where Mr. Grossas has developed close relationships with a number of promosing artists in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bandung and Bali. In addition to the works of Indonesian artists, the gallery exhibits some interesting pieces by Fillipino, Vietnamese and Indian artists.
