Galerie Joaquin Singapore Pte Ltd
Opened in December 2006, Galerie Joaquin Singapore is the city’s first space dedicated solely to artwork from the Philippines. The gallery showcases museum-quality contemporary artwork by some of the country’s most esteemed artists, with the vision of placing Filipino art on the international stage.
In recent years, Philippine artists have gained wider international appeal as collectors take note of the vibrant, evocative styles that have emerged through the country’s multi-cultural history. Works by masters such as Lydia Velasco and national artist Arturo Luz have been featured in prominent auctions both in Singapore and in Hong Kong, while younger up-and-coming artists have also garnered recognition and have begun to do well regionally.
With this in mind, Galerie Joaquin Singapore is poised to take Filipino art further by introducing a wide array of Philippine artists and their work to art-lovers and collectors. The gallery carries works by acclaimed painters including Luz, Velasco, Mario Parial, Juvenal Sanso; as well as work by abstract artists, Carlo Magno and Karina Baluyut; Filipiniana surrealist, Jerry Morada; and upcoming artists, Vincent de Pio and Eufemio Rasco, among others.
