MiFA - Melbourne International Fine Art
MiFA is a new platform for contemporary art in Australia. This modern, contemporary space hosts internationally acclaimed artists from the Asia Pacific, displaying work from China, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia and India in a variety of disciplines. In the heart of Collins Street in Melbourne’s CBD MiFA aims to bridge the gap between Australia and its neighbours providing new avenues for collaboration, discussion, networks and links. With a diverse program series filled with artists’ talks, exhibition events and Asia-Pacific cultural celebrations MiFA invites you to engage with the creativity of our region.
Located in the heart of Collins Street, MiFA is a unique space layered in Melbourne’s history.
With an exposed ceiling punctuated by pipes and light streaming in from both Collins St and Little Collins the surrounds of MiFA create a distinct and dynamic space. Once an Allen’s music practice room, a shoe stockroom and a darkened storage area, MiFA now breathes life into a space that was almost forgotten.
Enter to be immersed in a dynamic gallery that allows viewers to interact with stories, ideas and issues that challenge our region. With a diverse series of programs and events, a cutting edge exhibition calendar and high end art from the Asia-Pacific, MiFA promises to challenge with its ever-changing exhibitions.
