Nancy Margolis Gallery
Nancy Margolis started her career as a studio potter in 1966 and gradually moved from artist to art dealer as new experiences and challenges altered the direction of her interests. This was a journey that was neither planned nor anticipated, but happened in stages over a period of 38 years.[...]
The Soho lease came to an end in 2003, which created an opportunity to reappraise the gallery’s direction and future. The lure to Chelsea’s art district with its proximity to exciting art and dealers made a move there inevitable. New quarters were found at street level, 523 West 25thSt. It opened November 2003. The new expanded space has two exhibition areas, front reception office, private office, client viewing room, backroom storage, ship room, and kitchen.
The Nancy Margolis Gallery remains committed to representing established and emerging artists who work in clay and fiber, however, the choice of work and artists will be determined first by the creativity, talent, and unique vision of an artist rather than by medium exclusively.
