Gordon Edgerton Galleries
Gordon Edgerton Galleries is housed in a former bank and residence which celebrated its centenary in 1984. This building, which started life as the London Charter Bank, later becoming the ES & A, then the ANZ , replaced the wooden building erected in 1876.
Continuous exhibitions in a variety of media and subjects are held in the main gallery which was once the banking chamber of the former bank. Also on view is the strong room which was used to store large quantities of gold during the mining period, prior to its transport to Melbourne by Cobb & Co. stage coach.
