Platform

Platform Artists Group Inc is an artist run initiative in the underground heart of Melbourne, Australia. Our main exhibition space is located under Flinders Street in Campbell Arcade (also known as Degraves Street Subway). The subway connects to the Flinders Street Station train platforms and can also be reached via stairs off Degraves & Flinders Streets.

The subway was purpose built in 1956 for the Melbourne Olympic Games and features black marble columns and pink tiles in a late art deco style. There are also a number of boutique shops in the subway selling independent fashion, jewelry, zines and music.

Platform is supported by artists and through the City of Melbourne Triennial Grants Scheme 2005-2008 & 2009-2011 as well as assistance from Arts Victoria Programming and other private sponsors.
