Sullivan + Strumpf Fine Art

Located in Sydney’s art precinct, Paddington, Sullivan+Strumpf Fine Art exhibits and represents emerging and established contemporary artists.

The focus of the gallery is to exhibit artists who are both progressive and stimulating, and to curate group exhibitions to demonstrate the high standard of contemporary art today.

The partnership, which began while Ursula Sullivan and Joanna Strumpf were working together almost a decade ago, was founded on a shared passion for collecting contemporary art. Drawing on this passion, and with extensive experience in all aspects of the industry including auction houses, secondary market dealers and contemporary galleries, they established Sullivan+Strumpf Fine Art in 2004.

Entering the art industry in 1996, Ursula Sullivan (BFA (UNSW) has held the position of gallery manager for high-profile Sydney and Melbourne dealing galleries, including Savill Galleries, Melbourne. Her move back to Sydney in 2003 was to take up the role as Manager of Liverpool Street Gallery.

Joanna Strumpf, (BA (Hons. Art History) UQ) was sales manager for Savill Galleries, Sydney for over six years. Formally Head of Paintings for Lawson-Menzies Auction House, Sydney, she has also held the position of Director of Paintings (NSW) for Deutscher-Menzies Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers.
