Gallery Gondwana
Established in 1990 Gallery Gondwana has continuously recognized and actively supported the vitality of the contemporary art of Indigenous cultures.
Gallery Gondwana is proud to showcase the best in indigenous art through a diverse exhibition program that showcases both established and emerging artists. Named after Gondwana, the super-continent that once occupied the southern hemisphere, we celebrate our position in the world and our connection with our Pacific neighbours by acting as an intermediary between cultures and giving a voice to future possibilities through cross-cultural collaboration.
Since it was established in Alice Springs sixteen years ago the gallery has worked closely with art centers throughout Australia and the selection of works is founded on a long-standing relationship based on care and trust which the gallery and arts centers have formed.
Whenever Gallery Gondwana exhibits artists with no direct association with an arts centre, all artists are treated in accordance with fair and equitable trade practices as outlined by the Australian Commercial Gallery Association. Gallery Gondwana believes that representing and exhibiting artists is a privilege and prides itself on the long and lasting friendships it has developed over the years with artists and communities alike. Provenance assured.
