Agathon Galleries

Agathon Galleries represents contemporary Indigenous artists from the central desert community of Irrunytju, as well as independent Indigenous artists. The Galleries’ philosophy is to build a close relationship with our artists and their families, encouraging artistic freedom and experimentation.

Artists represented include Alkuwarri Dawson, Angampa Martin, Anmanari Brown, Eileen Stevens, Helen McCarthy Tyalmuty (Winner, People’s Choice Award, 2007 Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Award), Ivy Laidlaw, Jean Burke, Jorna Newberry, Karrika Belle Davidson, Kuntjil Cooper, Myra Cook, Nyakul Dawson, Patju Presley, Roma Butler, Tjayanka Woods, Tjuruparu Watson, Tommy Watson (whose painting Wipu Rockhole adorns the ceiling of the Musee du Quai Branly, Paris) and Wingu Tingima.

Agathon Galleries specialises in sourcing museum quality Aboriginal art, and curating private and corporate collections.
