Australian Galleries was established in Melbourne by Tam and Anne Purves in June 1956. The space was originally the Purves’ pattern manufacturing business in the inner suburb of Collingwood. Pieces of Eight is an exciting new gallery and artist workshop from which the public can view an innovative collection of contemporary jewellery and object based work made by Australian and international artists. We also have our large onsite workshop to the rear of the gallery from which six of the jewellers represented work.
