Newcastle Region Art Gallery is the custodian of one of Australia’s most substantial public art collections outside the major capital cities, and hosts a number of major exhibitions, tours, workshops and events throughout the year.

Over 4000 works of art present a comprehensive overview of Australian art from colonial times to the present day. Through our diverse public programs and changing exhibitions the Gallery presents a range of local, national and international exhibitions. Exhibitions of video art and exterior lighting projects provide an important contemporary focus. Dynamic education programs include art workshops, guided tours, lectures and public events.
