Reeldance announces closure
Over the past 12 years ReelDance has forged a reputation as a world-leading organisation dedicated to commissioning, exhibiting, promoting and collecting Australian and international dance on screen. So, it is with regret that we announce that ReelDance will close on 31 August 2012.
The reason for this reluctant decision is due to the discontinuation of appropriate levels of funding, without which ReelDance is unable to sustain and develop its core program activities. In recent months they have thoroughly explored a range of alternative business models, resulting in no viable options.
ReelDance will present a Dance on Screen event at Carriageworks, Sydney, on Thursday 16 August.
